Individual coaching is the development of the whole person!
Development of the whole person may sometimes involve focusing on a specific role, position or situation that one is in or would like to be in. It can be the role of an employee, a leader, self-employed or even a politician. As a client this decision is yours.
Choosing coaching is helping yourself, by having a professional «sparring partner» by your side.
What does a development process like this give you, and how is it conducted?
The process inspires you and clarifies your thinking and motivation. Your «sparring partner» helps you to identify your thoughts and goals. Your self-knowledge increases and makes it easier for you to select and deselect. The coaching process is in itself a maturing process where pace, progress and results are dependent on where you are in this process.
You normally start the process by having two meetings. In the first meeting you will consider the outcome and evaluation of the personality profile (JTI) you completed via online link from BeNow. This provides a good start for the development process. You can read more about the personality profile here. LINK
When we meet again you have already answered some questions. In this second meeting we will focus on your values, your life balance, and identify the areas to prioritise.
After the two first meetings we will continue with our conversations – normally via phone-calls – for a minimum of 3 months and with 2 conversations per month.
How does coaching via the phone work?
The coaching will be carried out in accordance with a strict agenda – to the point! Our clients tell us how surprisingly well they think phone-calls work. Perhaps even better than face-to-face meetings. One has to listen to each other in a very different way.
Who will need a development partner and coach?
Our clients are healthy people who wish to take charge of their own lives. Some feel a bit stuck and would like to make some changes in order to progress. The reasons are many. You may find yourself perpetually short of time, or you are searching for a better balance between work, family and leisure. You may want to realise your dreams, or simply require help and support in relation to work and career. You may have the feeling of lost energy and passion, work seems less stimulating and your potential isn’t being realised. In other words, this includes all healthy and well people who have their own development and well being in focus.
Work and career is often the gateway to coaching. It is not uncommon for leaders to use coaching, but also employees without leader responsibilities choose, and benefit from, such services. A leader will require and appreciate a neutral sparring parter outside the company boundaries, whose only agenda is to support and motivate the leader.
The method used is characterised by the coach asking effective and open questions without knowing the answers. The purpose is to stimulate the processes, learn by yourself through others, make use of your own experiences and develop some skills with respect to empathy, to listen, to live in the moment, accountability, conscious decisions and self-knowledge, amongst other things.
The method is being used as a profession, whereby the coach is offering the method through individual coaching or as a process leader for team building or organisational development. The method is also a management tool and a skill development tool within communication and relations.
«I don’t know of anyone who can read people better than Eva Søgnebotten. Through coaching and leader development courses I have become more self confident by getting to know myself better. I have developed a greater sense of self-knowledge which in turn has made me stronger in my role as a leader. I know better my strengths and the values important to me, and I know more about coaching. I have now and then used the exercises from the course, both in private and at work.»
